Lanark is easily reached from the M74 motorway, from either Junction 9 or Junction 12 depending on your direction of approach.

Glasgow - 15 miles; Edinburgh - 42; Stirling - 30; Perth - 62; Newcastle - 140; Carlisle - 84; Stranraer - 25

Turn left with the A73 at Hyndford Bridge, signposted to Lanark, and continue towards the town.

After crossing the bridge at Hyndford, the old race course is on the right.

If arriving by train, Lanark station is to the east of the town centre. Regular trains run from Glasgow Central Station (50 minutes) direct to Lanark, and from Edinburgh via Motherwell (1 hour 30 minutes).

A free shuttle bus will run regulary between the centre of town, the station, and the racecourse.
